The last day of February every year is Rare Disease Day (RDD).
Activities began in Sweden in 2008 with the aim of improving the quality of life for patients with rare and intractable diseases.
It has been active in Japan since 2010, and various events are planned throughout the country this year as well.
The theme of RDD2023 in Japan is

"Communicate, spread, communicate - Our odyssey with RARE"

has been announced.

BioMarin Pharmaceutical Japan K.K. agrees with the purpose of RDD and will support RDD activities this year as well.
